The 11th issue begins with a history of New Zealand’s neo liberal economic revolution of the 1980s, which successfully shifted the country to the right under a charismatic liberal leader while maintaining an image of progressivism. There are articles about Japanese noise group Hijokaidan, the New York-based composer Miya Masaoka, an article about experimental music in China by Zbigniew Karkowski and Yan Jun, and an interview with David Watson, who makes minimalist music using the bagpipes. There are artworks by Auckland artist Dan Arps and Taipei artist Yao Jui-chung; an epic poem by McArthur Gunter and a poem by six-year old Taiwanese girl Peggy Chang (a former student of White Fungus editor Ron Hanson); plus a 22-page comic adaptation of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Tao Wells writes about legendary New Zealand artist Don Driver and Hanson writes a blistering critique of post-colonial art in the South Pacific. There is an interview with Taipei artist Isa Ho; plus there are articles about the 1970s satirist Don Novello and the controversial book The Coming Insurrection by the Invisible Committee. The issue comes with a CD of artists off the label Pogus Productions, curated by label founder Al Margolis.
